LAO TZE
is an old and wise Chinese man who lived sometime around 550 bc. He
spent his old days out of the world and left us the most extensive
presentation about traditional Chinese thinking. It's a sum of the
philosophic ideas of his time presented in 81 short poems that give us
an insight into the workings of the Chinese psyche. It gives the
building blocs upon which the Chinese civilization built itself, it
thus constitutes the best place where to start to look for the roots of
differentiation between East and West. For those interested in interior
decoration and architecture, here are the concepts behind FENGSHUI... This
is a French translation of the TAO TE CHING by Laodan with
illustrations by Pierrot. Click on

Past
imposed ways on creativity have been abolished and the free will of the
artist has generally been accepted as the driving creative force. In
this process the artist has gained the freedom to declare that
"Whatever" is art, but in the end this has led us all into the greatest
of confusions.
My thesis is that out of this great confusion emerges a second
Renaissance, an age of great awakening. This book is all about the
historical process leading to this great awakening at the meaning of
art in society in the coming postindustrial age.
The book contains 308 pages and 33 illustrations. Click on its cover to

Visualize
the ideas and philosophy of Laodan through his paintings and other
visual art works. He illustrates the worldview of the men of knowledge
of the day, the scientists, while trying to integrate their ideas into
the realm of philosophy. In other words he tries to place scientific
knowings into the more globally encompassing reality. His painting is
about reality but not in the traditional sense represented by the first
degree image that projects on our retina. His are visual signs about
the operation of reality, as understood by the best brains of our
times, under the light of philosophy.
This 34 pages catalog
contains color photos of 90 of his works. |
